Features

  • High-Resolution Imaging Performance: Featuring a 0.4mm ultra-sharp focal spot, the system delivers high-resolution intraoral images with excellent clarity. It enables accurate visualization of fine anatomical details such as micro-fractures and root canal structures.
  • Precision Exposure & Patient Safety: The microprocessor‑controlled timer ensures exceptionally precise exposure delivery, while selectable 60kV and 65kV settings allow clinicians to fine‑tune contrast and grayscale based on patient anatomy and diagnostic needs. High‑frequency DC technology further enhances safety by eliminating soft rays to substantially reduce radiation dose without compromising image quality.
  • Robust Stability & Automatic Compensation: Engineered to withstand demanding daily use, the reinforced anti‑vibration arm system eliminates interfering movements and maintains stable positioning after setup, minimizing image blur. Automatic exposure time compensation activates instantly to counter mains supply fluctuations, ensuring consistent and repeatable results.
  • Ergonomic Flexible Arm & Compact Design: Available in three arm lengths (41 cm / 82 cm / 110 cm) to suit various surgery layouts, the flexible arm enables effortless handling and precise positioning. Its compact shape fits seamlessly into dental practices or implant surgery rooms without occupying excessive space.
  • Intuitive LCD Interface & Adjustable Settings: The user‑friendly LCD control panel provides clear visibility and easy operation, with pre‑programmed exposure settings for different tooth positions and patient categories, including adult and pediatric modes. Flexible parameters (60kV, 65kV) allow clinicians to adjust contrast and grayscale according to patient anatomy and diagnostic needs.
  • Universal Compatibility & Wireless Option: Fully compatible with digital sensors (including Owandy Opteo), PSP phosphor plates, and traditional film systems, the system integrates smoothly into existing workflows. An optional wireless exposure trigger enables remote activation, improving efficiency and reducing cable clutter in the operatory.

How are X-ray images transferred from the device to the computer?
The Owandy-RX PRO is an X-ray generator (tube head) – its sole function is to produce X-ray radiation. It does not capture or transfer images directly to a computer.
The actual image transfer depends entirely on the imaging system you use alongside it:
If using a digital intraoral sensor (e.g., Owandy sensor models OPTEO #1, #1.5, #2): the sensor captures the image and transfers it to the computer via the imaging software.
If using PSP (Phosphor Plates ) systems: the plate must first be scanned by a separate PSP Scanner , which then transfers the image via USB or network.
If using traditional film: the film must be processed chemically, then digitized via a scanner if needed.
What is the image transfer method (e.g., USB, wired, Wi-Fi)?
For the RX PRO generator itself: Not applicable – it does not transmit images.
For the digital sensor (if purchased separately): Typically, Owandy intraoral sensors connect to the computer via a USB wired connection.
Is dedicated software or a driver required?
For the RX PRO generator: No software or driver is required.
For the digital imaging system: Yes, absolutely. You must install the imaging software that accompanies your digital sensor (e.g., Owandy's own imaging suite). This software includes the necessary drivers to detect the sensor, capture the image, and process/display it on the screen.
Does it support importing images into a dental imaging system (e.g., practice management software)?
Yes. Once the images are captured via the sensor software, that software typically supports:
Exporting images in standard medical formats (e.g., DICOM, JPEG, or TIFF).
Integration with major dental practice management/imaging systems (such as Dexis, EagleSoft, or others) via native plug-ins or universal file import functions.
Does this model include a remote control (e.g., a wall-mounted exposure switch) that can be installed outside the room for taking X-rays?
No, the OwandyRX PRO does not offer any wireless trigger option, whereas with the OwandyRX DC, you can buy an optional wireless trigger kit, at a unit cost of USD 150.
